T2 The Portal Sukhumvit

It was easy to check in, and the front desk was happy to put my two consecutive bookings in the same room. The hotel is a short walk from the Asok/Sukhumvit intersection and both the BTS and MRT lines, but it faces a quiet street about 2 minutes from Sukhumvit itself. Everything felt very clean and modern, and the hotel seems new or recently renovated. I liked the industrial look, with tables accented by pipes, and the floor-to-ceiling windows. Mine was a 2F room, though, and pedestrians could easily look in, so I didn’t get to enjoy the curtains open much. I really enjoyed my stay here.

The beds were comfortable, and the small modern room had tea and coffee facilities, a hair dryer, safe, bar fridge, luggage space, and a large LCD Smart TV. The English-language channel selection was poor, though, and there’s nowhere to sit except the bed. There wasn’t even a rubbish bin in the room. The Wi-Fi often dropped out, and there’s no soundproofing. You can clearly hear people talking and walking in the corridors. The small bathroom had a horrible sewage smell. The shower has a rainfall head and a handheld Rose, but the water pressure is so weak it’s hard to rinse soap off properly or feel like you’ve had a shower. The bath mats and hand towels were tattered and frayed.

The location was perfect, and the rooms were very clean and smelled good. The bathroom was luxurious, the bed really comfortable, and the staff were professional and kind. Poom, Reeya, Rosa and Mind helped with all my needs and requests. I’ll be back again.

The reception and housekeeping staff were wonderful. MIND, Rose, and Oom made me feel as if we’d been friends forever. The hotel is newer, very clean, and has quality bedding and towels. The bed is much softer than you’ll find in most hotels in Asia. It’s on a quiet dead-end street. If you don’t need a pool, big gym, or bath robe, this place could suit you. The only problem is that you won’t want to leave.
