The bathroom felt pretty public, and although the upstairs room looked lovely and spacious, it wasn't the room we got. When we arrived, we were told someone else was already in the room we'd booked, so my girlfriend and I were put in a windowless bunk bed room and charged more. The woman running the hostel keeps the place clean, but she has her own way of enforcing the rules. She may knock on your door at 2 in the morning to reprimand you. Keep every door shut properly and switch off the air conditioning whenever you leave if you want to avoid that.

The main draw for us was the location. Hua Lamphong MRT and the Marine Department pier for the Chao Phraya Ferry are nearby, along with Chinatown, Wat Traimit Temple, Talad Noi and River City Bangkok. Bangkok Train Station is about 15 minutes away, which suited our onward train trip to Cambodia. Prices are low, and we stayed over Christmas 2023 after booking through Agoda. This place also goes by “Good Space Hostel.” Our experience was so-so. We arrived around 4 am to find the hostel closed, so call ahead and ask them to open up. Our airport transfer driver, booked through KKDay, called the owner for us before we got there. I didn't find the owner obnoxious. I called her auntie, and she seemed like a typical auntie who likes things kept in order. Shoes aren't allowed in the room, and she doesn't like guests eating there. She was also sweet to us, gave us oranges when we left, and showed us how to use the coin laundry across from the hostel. A few things to know: there are no private bathrooms, and I was concerned about a CCTV camera directly above the bathroom because someone might see you naked. The towels aren't changed daily, there's no room service or spare pillows, and there aren't many electrical sockets. The rooms have no windows, though there's one by the sink where you can see the neighborhood and even Icon Siam. Most of the nearby shops are auto repair businesses, so mornings may be noisy. The price is reasonable, and I'd maybe book again, though not for a long time.

The shower was a highlight: it's large, gets very hot, and is partly open to the outside, with full privacy, city views and a breeze. It was fun to use day or night. We had a private room for two on the guest house roof, with a big, comfortable bed, good air conditioning and lots of space. It's good value for a place to sleep. Hua Lamphong train and metro station is 5-10 minutes away on foot, so getting around Bangkok is easy. The room does get extremely hot on the top floor, though, and we had to leave the air conditioning on 24/7 to make it bearable when we came back. They call the place a “hostel & cafe,” but we didn't find a cafe in operation. There was a coffee machine, but nobody seemed to run it, and the place was empty of other guests and customers while we were there. Maybe that was because it was the end of the season. It's in a remote part of china town, with little activity downstairs; the center is about a 5 minute walk. The street has garages and workshops, and we heard some noise around 8 am. It wasn't extreme, and it stopped by the afternoon or evening, so nights were fine. But the industrial street was pretty deserted after 8-9 pm, which made walking through it feel unpleasant if you like having people around.

Cute place with good coffee, and it's far enough off the beaten path to feel like a hidden gem. The music, though, is truly awful. I'd almost take the construction noise outside over that Western pop.

The Ente Space is a cozy, great AirBnB right in the heart of chinatown. A good, clean and affordable spot to stay in Bangkoks unbelievable Chinatown, worth a visit.
