Palette The Travellers Hotel Bangkok

The reception gave me a strange feeling, but the rooms were clean and the furniture wasn’t worn out. Breakfast was simple. Other hotels give you a lot more for 5 Dollars, though it was good enough to get the day started. I’d come back.

The coffee in the lobby was good, and our room on the eighth floor was a pleasant surprise. We hadn’t expected much after reading all the negative reviews, but everything was clean, well kept, and the room had what we needed. Maybe some rooms are worse and that explains the bad reviews. We might just have been lucky.

The photos show a suite with an extra room, not the Double Deluxe I booked. They tried to put me in a completely different room, and I noticed BLACK MOLD in room 4407. This place needs a complete makeover. I waited at reception for over thirty minutes, and the breakfast was very basic. The only good thing was the Chinese restaurant on the second floor. Be careful, I can’t recommend this hotel.

The booking information was misleading, and the hotel didn’t provide what it advertised. It said buffet breakfast, but when we arrived they told us it was order-based only and charged 300 baht per person. The air conditioning and TV didn’t work, even though we were charged for those facilities. Before booking, the hotel had advertised a full range of facilities, but they weren’t properly available when we got there. One of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. I’d strongly advise other guests to be careful before booking in Bangkok.
