Paradiso Boutique Suites

The room was quiet and felt secure, even during Songkran, despite being in the middle of Sukhumvit nightlife. It’s a good base for the tourist hub, and the hotel is just steps from the MRT and BTS for getting to Bangkok’s many cultural attractions. This was my second stay at Paradiso, and I’ll probably come back next time I’m in Bangkok. My room was modern, well designed, spotless, and comfortable, with a nice rain shower and modern bathroom fixtures. The water pressure acted up now and then, but only for a minute or two. The bed and bedding were cozy, and everything worked. I didn’t use the TV, so can’t comment on that. Who watches TV while visiting Bangkok? I liked the central controls for the air and lights on one nightstand, the oversized safe that fit an iPad and other valuables, and the generous room accessories. I also noticed several staff members from my last visit were still there, and they’re nice people. Highly recommend this hotel and Bangkok.

I’m glad I only stayed one night. At first the hotel seemed good and conveniently located, but there was a cockroach in the bathroom. When I went after it, I saw how moldy and dirty the shower was. The video shows the details, and the towel with the logo proves it’s this hotel. There’s also a lot of outside noise because the windows aren’t soundproof. For almost US$50, I expect better quality in Bangkok.

The rooms were great for the price, and the location is amazing, right between Asok and Nana train stations. But checkout was a bad end to the stay. They charged me for three juices from the minibar, even though I hadn’t consumed them. I’m on medication for sugar and had said I couldn’t have them. I’d even left Coke Zero for them to enjoy. The receptionist with the pixie haircut insisted I pay for the drinks I didn’t have. The cost wasn’t the issue, it was the principle and the way she spoke to me, making me feel guilty with “don’t worry, I’ll pay for it.” That wasn’t acceptable. The hotel should properly check minibar items between guests. Not a nice end at all.

The room was a little small, and there wasn’t space to unpack unless I put my suitcase on the bed. I booked the basic room, so that may explain it. I’d choose a bigger one next time. The location is great, with easy BTS access and lots of nearby places to eat. Staff were friendly and helpful.
