Parinda Hotel

The rooms themselves were good: it’s a new hotel, with comfortable beds, a large bathroom and a nice pool. The people opening doors and working in the parking area were friendly too. But the reception staff weren’t welcoming, and at this price I expected better service. We picked the hotel so we could relax by the pool. We wanted to check out, leave our luggage, and use the pool before heading to the airport, as we’ve done at hotels around Southeast Asia. Reception said no. They do have luggage storage, but guests can’t use the facilities after checkout. When we asked for a manager to help find a solution, we were told there wasn’t one working at the hotel, just staff. That felt like a lie or very poor management. They charged us extra for a late checkout, even though we didn’t need the room after checkout. That was the only way we could use the pool. The extra charge left us feeling like they just wanted more money from us, which wasn’t a nice feeling. The outside of the hotel looks great, but because of the reception service it didn’t feel worth the price. I can only give it two stars.
