Pastel House - Adults Only - Hostel

The owner was so kind that he made breakfast for us when we were leaving for the airport at dawn. He also brewed delicious coffee ❤️‍🔥, then drove off to his business in an expensive Mercedes 😎. Such simple, warm people, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The hotel is just around the corner from the metro, so it’s easy to reach anywhere in Bangkok. Our room was clean, though a few spots could use minor renovation. That wasn’t a big deal, and we had a wonderful stay overall.

The staff kept to themselves and didn’t communicate with me, which I appreciated. They brought water every day, and there was a small, cute breakfast, laundry service, and a shared area where you could meet other travellers and have a drink or a meal. The rooms are tiny, but that worked for me while I chilled in Bangkok before moving on. The location is great, very close to the metro and surrounded by street food shops and 7 eleven.

The room smelled strongly musty, and with no windows, the smell never cleared. It also had poor lighting, no bathroom ventilation, and very bad soundproofing. Cleaning hadn’t been done properly, and the facilities were basic. The room looked nothing like the online photos, which felt misleading. They seemed to ignore my messages even though they’d clearly read them, and refused to return my deposit.

The location was handy, but I had a terrible experience and had to leave for another hotel. There’s no elevator, the floor was dirty, and although guests are told to leave slippers outside, the staff wouldn’t help with my very heavy luggage even after I told them. They just didn’t seem to care.
