Phongsathon Mansion

I’ve been in Thailand for over 2 months and stayed in all kinds of places, but this was the worst. The elevator trapped me twice, the shower didn’t work, and there was never water. They said they’d bring some but didn’t. The room was never cleaned. Dogs and cats barked day and night, and music played from 7am until 12. The building should be condemned. The elevator nearly collapsed, and the staff and owner were disgusting. I asked for a refund because the shower didn’t work and there was nowhere to stay, but my week’s holiday was ruined. Never stay here, trust me. There’s a hotel up the road for the same price that’s clean, freshly cleaned daily, and provides new water every day. This place should be closed down.

The elevator broke while I was there, and no one was notified. Over several days, multiple residents got trapped. Maintenance workers tracked black dirt through the halls on their boots, and it stayed there for a whole week. Residents often leave rubbish to rot in the hallways, and people keep to themselves, so it doesn’t feel like a social building. The bathrooms have black mould and only cold water. The aircon is broken, the mattress was disgusting with no mattress protector, and the sheets and blanket were stained, ripped, and threadbare. The hallways stink of cat pee. It may be cheap, but expect disappointment and extra charges at every step. They do allow pets and are kind to the street cats, which I respect.

The room was a letdown, especially the housekeeping. There was dust and hair on the floor and bed, and I didn’t even want to take my shoes off. The sheets were dirty, and the pillows and blanket were filthy and smelled bad. The room’s smell was hard to tolerate. The bathroom was unclean and the shower didn’t work properly. The lock was poorly fixed and seemed easy to break, which felt unsafe. It’s quite different from the photos on Agoda. The location is far from public transport, and the receptionist wasn’t very helpful with my questions. Some guests apparently have issues with bugs, and I had a mosquito problem. The room isn’t terrible for the price, but spend a little more and you can get a better hotel. I don’t recommend this place, and wouldn’t trust the website or Agoda pictures.

I was disappointed with the experience. Several problems went unaddressed, and the quality fell short of what I expected.
