Prince Theatre Heritage Stay Hotel

For a night’s sleep, this worked really well. The rooms were quiet, the beds were comfy, and each dorm bed has its own enclosed space for privacy. The location is great too. The bathrooms were the main problem. I spent a week across two rooms, and both had very dirty showers, with mold on the walls and curtains and floors that looked like they weren’t getting a proper regular clean. In both, the shower drain backed up and sometimes overflowed, leaving water everywhere. Cleanliness needs work. There isn’t a communal kitchen, outside food isn’t allowed on the main floor, and you can’t sit in the “theatre” restaurant unless you’re buying something. That leaves only a few tables and couches for everyone, so there’s not much of a place to hang out.

The private duplex room looked nice by design, but it was in poor condition and quite noisy. We also had a serious water system problem, with the water cutting out several times. After being there for a few days in Bangkok, we needed to ask for both cleaning and drinking water. The reception area is tucked away at the front and easy to miss when you first arrive. We accidentally checked under the bed for something and found other guests’ belongings still there, along with a thick layer of dust. Maybe I expected too much from the cleanliness and from how helpful the staff would be.

The room itself was awful: it smelled like dirt, the air conditioner was so loud I needed AirPods to sleep, and the bathroom was moldy and kept leaking. On top of that, my luggage had been opened and some of my things, shoes included, were gone. I can’t understand why anyone thought it was okay to handle a guest’s personal belongings. When I reported it, the staff were extremely rude and showed no concern. It was one of the worst stays I’ve had. I’d never come back and strongly advise others to avoid the place.

Getting around was easy from Prince Theatre: the river boat pier is close, so the Grand Palace and Asiatique were simple to visit, and BTS is a short walk away. Siam Square took about 20 minutes to reach. I slept really well here. The beds were super comfortable, probably the best I’ve had in a while. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I liked the beer deals too, which were good value. I had an amazing stay and would definitely come back.
