Silom's central location was the hotel's biggest plus for us, with the BTS Skytrain and other public transport close by. Pula Silom is a basic, affordable place to sleep while exploring Bangkok. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, and there are standard budget-stay basics like air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a private bathroom, but no luxury extras. Room quality depends quite a bit on what you pay for. We chose one of the cheaper rooms, which had no windows and felt somewhat dated, though it was functional and clean enough for a short stay. Other rooms looked more modern, with some having windows and even bathtubs. The area is lively, with nightlife and plenty going on, but some parts felt a little sketchy, especially at night. While we were there, people nearby were asking for money, and some were sleeping on the street. That may make some travelers uncomfortable. It's a simple base in a very central spot, and can do the job if all you need is somewhere to sleep.

The service was a real plus. Someone was always at the lobby, 24 hours a day, ready to help. Nano was especially kind and helped me with lots of things during and even after my stay. The Wi-Fi was super fast, probably the fastest I've seen in Thailand, which would be handy for remote work. The location is in an alley near the main street, very close to the gay bars and clubs around Silom, plus the night market and some shopping malls. Being near a gay club may mean noise, so it may not suit families. The rooms were generally good, but check the room type carefully because sizes and features differ. Some have no window, with natural light but no fresh air; others face the alley and club, so noise may be an issue. The doors and possibly the walls don't block sound well. Most mornings around 8.30, I woke to housekeeping staff cleaning nearby rooms and chatting, so earplugs are a good idea. This was the cheapest place I found in the area with good reviews. I had a good stay, but gave it 4 rather than 5 stars mainly because of the noise and the lack of windows on at least one side of the hotel.

I couldn't sleep all night because music from the nearby gay club came through. This really isn't a family-friendly place, so I wouldn't bring a family here. The bedsheet wasn't good, and the service was poor. A really bad hotel.

The location was amazing, close to public transport and surrounded by good Thai food. There's a small coffee shop next door that I liked, too. Even with clubs around the corner, my nights were quiet, perhaps because my room had no window. I hadn't noticed that detail when booking, but that was my oversight. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. They also kept my huge luggage for a month, which I'm very grateful for.
