There are plenty of good restaurants and convenience stores nearby, and public transport is a short walk away. The hotel is tucked down an alley, and the front desk is staffed around the clock. Our welcome was warm, and so was the goodbye. The room was spotless and spacious, with strong water pressure and huge, soft towels. After the day, it was nice to unwind with Netflix in the soft bed. I’d book here again.

The shower was a highlight, with strong pressure and steady hot water, and the room had comfortable beds and plenty of space. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and they loved children. Sib Kao Hotel is handy for getting around, near Terminal 21 Asok and two metro stations. The TV was fine for downtime, nothing special. Cleanliness was generally acceptable, though the floor felt a little oily, possibly from guests coming back after massages. I also wished the room lighting were brighter. There’s a 10% discount at Jai Massage right beside the hotel, which was a nice extra. Good value for the comfort and location, and I’d stay again.

The smell was the worst part, a damp, vinegary old-mold odor that clung to my clothes and suitcase. Even three weeks later, the suitcase still smelled like a forgotten basement. The bathroom was a mixed bag: the shower area was surprisingly large, but the shower fitting seemed barely attached to the wall. The elevator worked fine, and the walls kept neighbor noise out. The cleaners were another story, though. They made so much morning noise that sleeping in was tough. The lobby looks modern and refreshed, but the online photos are very flattering, almost fictional. Outside that little lobby, the rooms feel like a dated three-star stay. They’re tiny, and opening a normal suitcase means putting it on the bed. There’s a window, but it’s about as wide as a baguette, barely opens, and looks straight at power cables and the neighboring building. Service was polite enough, just ordinary. The location in Sukhumvit is convenient for nightlife, but tuk-tuks, coffee, and massages all seemed to cost double. It feels like you’re paying for the postcode more than the comfort. The rooftop is up a route that feels like a fire escape audition, and it has a few chairs, low tables, and a toilet, but no bar. Fine for fresh air, not much atmosphere. Great location and decent staff, but the outdated rooms, maintenance problems, and smell make it possible to do better for the price.

The room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with a nice rooftop spot where you can bring your own food. Terminal 21 and BTS Asok are close, just a two or three minute walk. The staff were attentive and really helpful. Jai Massage next door was good to try, too. A nice stay!

The staff were super friendly, and the location was excellent. I’d heard complaints about room size, but I thought my room was great. They even surprised me with an early birthday treat. I had a wonderful time at Sib Kao and will stay there whenever I come to Bangkok.
