I came here hoping to explore Chinatown, but leaving early was the right call. I’ve never checked out before the end of a booking before. This place felt nasty and unsafe, and after I reported serious problems on the first night, nothing had been fixed by the second, so I left. When I went, I saw two other groups leaving in similar circumstances and told the staff the problems were unsafe as well as unsanitary. In room #206, the bed sheets were torn, there was a bad smell, and water from leaking bathroom fixtures was everywhere. The door was secured with a padlock, and it didn’t fill the frame, so people could see into the room. It reminded me of a bathroom stall. There was also a half-empty bottle of water in the fridge, probably left by the previous guest. The building looked run-down and unlike the photos, though I didn’t hold that against them since photos can be old. What I did notice was the elevator stuck on the 1st floor, opening and closing over and over. I took the stairs and didn’t use it again. Housekeeping hadn’t cleaned or changed anything. When I showered, the plumbing made strained, creaking noises that got louder, and I thought the pipes might burst. There was rust everywhere, water damage on the ceiling, and bits falling down. I booked because of the location, but this wasn’t even up to a two-star standard. The place may have earned its score from earlier bookings. Unless they fix these things, stay away.

The second room they moved us to was even worse than the first, which had no hot water. There was a huge, awful moldy patch on the bathroom ceiling and a cockroach in the room. No one was at reception, and they ignored our calls. Don’t trust the booking site photos. Horrible hotel.

The room in the standard deluxe double was quite spacious, and the location is good. But the bathroom was really unclean, the shower flooded the whole floor, and the tap beneath the sink leaked. The walls are thin too. Such a shame, because the place has potential, but I wouldn’t stay longer than one night.

There was no real window in my room, just one facing a corridor, so it got no light. There was no breakfast or coffee either. The area wasn’t anything special, and getting to trains wasn’t convenient. For what I paid, I expected better. At a quarter of the booking price, I might have found it acceptable. The room smelled bad and felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The towels had that old, dirty smell, the showerhead leaked, and the pipes stank. The toilet didn’t flush. You also have to take your card with you to unlock the entrance, which means you can’t keep the fridge, safe, or anything else running while you’re out. Most of the time nobody was at the desk, so without the card you couldn’t get in. Filthy and gross, I don’t recommend it.

The only thing that seemed true was the good location in China Town. The owners passed us on their way to the backyard and left us standing in the rain without opening the door. Once we finally got inside, the Thai manager said our booking had been cancelled and that he’d messaged us to move to a different hotel elsewhere. We later found out he hadn’t told us at all until late in the evening, when other nearby hotels were no longer available. That was unfair and disrespectful of our time, especially since we had an early flight the next morning. I wouldn’t trust the reviews or the stars either. They’re probably bots, and the manager lies.
