RQ Bangkok Huai Khwang by Collection O

We left before using the two remaining nights because the place wasn’t worth the hassle. After seeing a big cockroach in the bathroom the morning we left, we’d had enough. The room we moved into, number 18, was smaller than our original room 16 and had no fridge. We’d paid for a room with a fridge and asked them to move it from room 16, but they refused. The trouble started when we arrived: the address on the booking site was wrong, and nobody answered our messages there. The supposed reception was a bedroom with a desk, where young staff slept. Room 16 had a filthy bathroom, a broken sink pipe that sent dirty water onto the floor, and stained, dirty-looking sheets and towels. They agreed to change our room, then on the second day said there were no rooms and we’d have to wait until the third. That day we viewed three rooms. The heater in room 18 didn’t work at all; rooms 23 and 24 had terribly uncomfortable beds and no windows. None had clean bathrooms. This place was disgusting and shouldn’t be presented as decent accommodation. At the same price, there are plenty of other options that look and feel like proper hotels with clean spaces.

I booked three nights at RQ Bangkok Huai Khwang by Collection O, from October 13 to 16. I was meant to check in on October 13 but had another schedule and didn’t show up. The policy said the no-show fee would equal the cancellation fee, which for this booking was THB 462.56 starting October 12, 2025 at 12:00 AM. But my statement shows I was charged THB 1,387.68, the full consolidated price for all three nights. I’m asking when I’ll get the other two nights’ fee back, 925.12 THB, since one night cost 462.56 THB. Booking customer service told me the property owner hadn’t processed the cancellation request, so no payment was being worked on. I also tried contacting the property many times myself and got no response. I’m very disappointed with the property and Booking.com platform customer service. This feels like a complete scam.

I booked through Hostelworld and paid a small reservation fee, but when I arrived there was no room for me. They scanned my passport and confirmed the booking, yet still had no availability. I asked them to cancel it so I could get my fee back, but they refused and kept telling me to cancel myself, which would have meant losing the refund. While I was trying to sort it out, two other people arrived to check in and were also told there were no rooms. After about 20 minutes and many phone calls, staff said the booking had been cancelled. An hour later, I was at another hotel, but the original booking was still active and I had no refund.

The bathroom had cigarette butts and broken lighters, and even though the room was labeled non-smoking, it reeked of cigarettes. The bed linen was stained, the shower had no hot water, and there was no remote for the air conditioning. The plugs only worked when the main lights were on. At check-in, staff were rude and refused to help when we were just five minutes early, making us wait in the street. Wouldn’t recommend it.
