Sampheng Market is right at the heart of this place, with plenty of inexpensive goods around. It’s quiet, though I sometimes heard crows calling, which I actually liked because it felt a bit like a village. Chinatown is close by, so finding food at any time was easy. Good value for money, and I’d definitely come back.

Everything was fine, really. The balcony faces the wall of the next building, but it was still nice to sit outside.

Right above the narrow lanes of Sampheng’s market, the location is amazing if you want to feel Chinatown’s intense daily life. The room was pleasant, cleaned every day, and had a lovely view of a Taoist temple. The staff were friendly and very helpful too. At this price, you can’t expect everything to be perfect, but it’s great value.

The bed hadn’t been changed after the previous guests. There was hair all over it, which was disgusting. I left immediately and changed hotels, even though it was 4 am. Seriously, the worst experience I’ve had anywhere I’ve stayed. I’m not very picky, but a clean bed is a must for me.
