Bed by City Surawong-Patpong

The low ceiling was the one thing I didn't love, since it made the overhead shower a little redundant. Beyond that, Bed by City has so many thoughtful touches. After being out in the hot weather, I came back, napped until well past dinner, then had the six complimentary packs of local snacks in the room. Such a nice surprise. I ate them all in one sitting while binge-watching FashionTV's quick interviews with the stars. The small packs aren't cheap even at Big C, and the flavours felt authentically Thai. They gave me ideas for snacks to bring home as souvenirs. They also keep an umbrella in the cabinet, which is a lifesaver in tropical heat or rain. The lobby has welcome drinks and cookies that are constantly replenished. I loved the refrigerated fresh milk, pineapple cookie in a jar, and super sweet peanut cookie candy. The long wooden shoehorn from Ikea was another kind gesture. I remember my mom liking shoehorns because they helped her avoid bending unnecessarily. I love pretty much everything about this hotel.

Breakfast had lots of options and was delicious, and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It's a brilliant hotel, tucked into an alley away from the hustle and bustle of Silom area, yet right in the city center. A hidden gem. I'll be studying here in the future.

Getting around wasn't convenient, and there was only one convenience store nearby. Anything else meant a long walk. The single bed was very small and uncomfortable, and it left my neck hurting a lot. The AC wasn't working well, so the room was always hot. The shower didn't work properly either.

I was delighted by my stay here. The place is very clean, with a lift, and it's tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac in silom, in a nice residential neighborhood. The breakfast is absolutely amazing, especially for the price: an unbelievable free buffet.
