Sawasdee Hotel @ Sukhumvit Soi 8

I had a comfortable, quiet night's sleep, and the shower pressure was excellent. The rooms have been modernised recently and are clean and well equipped, though the huge bed leaves things a bit tight. Soi 8 is one of my favorite spots for being close to good bars and restaurants while staying quiet. Sawasdee is a good option for a short stay. The weather was good, so I didn't need the hotel's tuk tuk shuttle to Nana BTS, which is just up the top of the soi.

Soi 8 is a quiet cul-de-sac, so there's no through traffic. The breakfast buffet is small and served on a terrace, but there's enough choice for the price. I stay here often when I visit Bangkok. It's a very small budget hotel, so don't expect the Ritz. The rooms are tiny, just enough space to get around the bed, but comfortable and friendly for a couple of nights, with nice soft linen.

Friendly, helpful staff, and there's a cart to take you to the junction. The place is small and cozy in the heart of Sukhumvit soi 8, a comfortable distance from the main road, so traffic noise isn't a problem, but it's not so far that you need a cab. Rooms are small, but have enough amenities. For the price and location, it's worth it. I'd give the rooms, service, price, and staff 4/5 each.

We started our Thailand trip with a few nights in a small room here. It was very clean, with great daily housekeeping, and there was a variety of food at breakfast: baked breads, fruit, rice, meat/chicken, salad, yoghurt, and tea/coffee. Staff were friendly, and sometimes drove us in a golf car to the end of the street so we didn't have to walk. The atmosphere was calm, with mostly older couples and no party people in the hostel. We didn't hear any rumour on the street. Sukhumvit MRT station is a 10-15 min walk away.
