Shanti Lodge Bangkok

The host „happy“ was great to talk with. This is a charming place, decorated in a traditional style, with cute Thai-style rooms and good food. The bathroom is shared but clean. The wooden walls are thin, so it can get a little noisy depending on who else is staying, though outside it’s very quiet. There’s a peer a short walk away, where you can catch a boat into central Bangkok. A nice spot if you’re after an authentic traditional experience and friendly people.

After a long flight, I stayed here for one night and found it amazing. The staff were so helpful and friendly, and the service was just great. The food was good too, adjusted perfectly for tourists. 10/10.

Shanti Lodge is in a quieter part of Bangkok, and the downstairs restaurant served top-notch food. The staff were amazingly friendly too. A very pleasant stay for a fair price.

I came back hoping to relive my good time here in 1988, but this visit was a letdown. At reception, a girl tried her best to make me feel unwelcome, which is something I rarely see in Thailand. The room walls are so thin you can hear people in the next room breathing. Maybe I’ve changed too, but next time I’ll look for a real hotel.
