Skyview Hotel Bangkok

We stayed on one of the upper floors, and the room size and views made the price feel worthwhile. It was our first visit to Bangkok, and this stay got our holiday off to a lovely start. They gave us a thoughtful anniversary greeting, and the lobby, reception, breakfast area, and rooftop bars all had welcoming staff. The little touches added up.

The lobby feels welcoming, and the staff are friendly and very service minded. The rooms are practical rather than fancy, with a proper bathroom door, good water pressure and temperature, and clean, soft towels. The location is excellent, just steps from the BTS and plenty of shopping and food. I’d happily stay again.

We enjoyed our stay, especially the rooftop bar, pool, and the artistic details around the hotel. Having separate elevators for the rooftop bar and guest rooms made things feel calmer and more secure. The hotel is well placed in central Bangkok. Our room was comfortable, though the bathroom seemed a little small for its size. There was no balcony and the windows didn’t open, so at times I wished I could get fresh air instead of using the AC. On arrival, no one initially helped with our luggage or explained the concierge service. Apart from that, it was an enjoyable stay.

The location was very good, the view was nice, and the rooms were clean, with very good housekeeping. But we wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We’ve visited Bangkok around ten times and try a different five-star hotel each trip, and this has been the worst so far. In our view, it doesn’t meet five-star standards, and other hotels at this price offer much better value. The pool was cold and there were far too few loungers. Reception staff weren’t very friendly or accommodating. We’d already booked, then on check-in day noticed a higher-floor room available for less, but they wouldn’t move us or offer an upgrade at that same price. The advertised “shower room” was really just a toilet with a shower area that wasn’t properly enclosed and couldn’t be closed off. That was disappointing, and the rooms and facilities didn’t look like the advertising.
