Lucky Green View

We used to choose this hotel whenever we came to Bangkok, but the reception staff have consistently seemed unwelcoming. They don’t smile and come across as impatient when answering questions. I also booked rooms for friends, and they had the same experience. Basic courtesy and hospitality matter a lot, but we didn’t feel comfortable here. We won’t be coming back.

It’s a good value if you’re working while travelling and need to spend time in your room during the week. You get to live near locals, though for sightseeing it may not be ideal because most tourist spots are far away. The room was very clean, there’s daily cleaning service, and the hotel breakfast is good. Room service orders are quite cheap too. The staff were kind to me, and for the price I had a good stay.

The 24/7 convenience store on the ground floor is handy for snacks, toiletries, and other basics. But the TV only has Thai-language channels, with no CNN or international news. The hotel is also far from major transport hubs, shopping centers, and tourist attractions. We chose Lucky Green View Hotel because we thought it was near Ramkhamhaeng University for a conference. One-way streets made getting to and from the university surprisingly long and tedious, and getting a Grab or taxi at the entrance was difficult. The one-way street out front seems to keep ride-hailing cars from circulating nearby. The rooms are spacious and clean, but visibly aged, and the WiFi frequently cuts out. It’s a large hotel, though it may not meet the standard of a true 3-star property anymore. Maybe it was a solid 3-star option in its earlier years. With the aging infrastructure and rustic interiors, it feels like time has passed it by.

The hotel seemed to have been renovated throughout. A lot of the issues mentioned in earlier posts seemed to have been fixed or were being worked on. I appreciated the thorough cleaning and fresh towels every morning.
