Grand Pinnacle Hotel

For a budget stay near BKK Airport, this was good value. The front desk is open around the clock, and the staff were helpful, sometimes carrying luggage up the stairs. There are no elevators in this four-story hotel, so expect to climb with your bags. Rooms are cleaned daily, though you need to hand over your key, and mine was very clean with nearly new towels. The lighting is dim, but the AC worked well. There's a small fridge. A simple continental breakfast is served in an adjoining, family-run room, with dispensed juice, coffee, toast, preserves and butter portions. Around the hotel you'll find several 711 stores, small eateries and massage shops within walking distance. The bathrooms are very outdated, the TV is tiny, and storage is just a kitchen-style rack, with no cupboard. Parking is very limited, only five tight spaces by the entrance. Prices mentioned: an ice bag is 10 THB, large Chang or Singa bottles are 60 THB, and bottled water is 10 THB.

After a month in Vietnam, this was one of the cleanest places I'd seen. Not sure why some reviews are so critical. Everything here was really good 😊

The bed was big and comfortable enough that I slept through the occasional plane passing overhead. Check-out was instant, and I'd book this again for an overnight before another flight. It took about 15 minutes by rideshare from BKK, so the airport location is handy for the price. The entrance looked a bit dark and I wasn't sure I had the right place, but reception was quick. The room was simple, with a TV, medium-sized fridge, desk and good AC. The washroom was clean, and there were two bottles of water.

For what it costs, this is a really good airport hotel and close by. The rooms aren't perfect.
