Star Sukhumvit by OYO Rooms

We got to the hotel at 4 a.m. after landing in Bangkok around 3 a.m. We had booked one night through booking.com and, before traveling, asked whether early check-in would be possible. They said yes and told us they'd arrange it. When we arrived, they said check-in wasn't until 2 p.m. That left us looking for somewhere else to go with all our luggage at 4 in the morning. It was a really bad experience. I wouldn't trust this hotel, and wouldn't recommend choosing it.

The rooms and bathroom were dusty and very dirty, and the place is tucked away in a location I didn't find great. When we asked for an extra comforter and pillow, they said it would cost 500 THB. I've traveled a lot and never had to pay extra just to get a pillow or blanket. After we spoke with the manager, they agreed to send a comforter, but what arrived was a baby blanket without a cover. I also felt unsafe leaving the room. The receptionist wasn't very personable either. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I had a good time here. The location is near the BTS, though it's far from the center. I spent almost all my time in the room, and it was really quiet.

It was a neat, affordable place, and had the essentials I needed. Nothing fancy, just basic.
