Stay Hostel

The location is a quiet alley not far from BTS and MRT, about a 10-minute walk from the station. There's a direct MRT from Krunthep Central Station. On the way, you pass a stinky canal, then turn into the first alley. The lady owner looked sour and disciplinarian, as some other comments mention. Try to make her smile and share a photo. Our first room had an attached bathroom but no attached aircon. The box just blew air, so I wondered where the actual aircon was. They moved us upstairs to a room with aircon, but no attached bathroom. Both rooms faced the Terminal 21 carpark and loading bay, which explains the earplug packets on the table. Deliveries happen at all hours of the night; we could hear lorries backing in and people's conversations, if you understand Thai. Walking up to our room, we also saw a lady guest naked with her door ajar. Luggage storage is free until 5 p.m. We got a full refund for our room, but had to pay for the downgraded room.

The room was clean, and the shared bathroom was kept in good shape. Being near the metro made getting around Bangkok easy, with shops and a mall close by too. Good value for the Sukhumvit area. One host seemed annoyed and was a little rude when we asked to leave our bags for a few hours on checkout day. It didn't spoil the stay.

The room was small, but the price was budget friendly and the WiFi worked well. I had a private bathroom and bedroom for two days, and it was clean. The BTS is very close, staff were friendly, and you can rent a motorbike in the next building. I'll definitely come back and recommend it to others.

The location made getting around easy, with Terminal 21, BTS Asok, and MRT Sukhumvit all a short, direct walk away. Nearby there are massages, street food, 7Eleven, Cat Cafe, and plenty more. The staff live there and are quick to notice if you need help. The rooms were cleaned every day, and watching the work, I could tell they put care into it. There's a shared bathroom for four rooms on each floor, and it was clean when we used it. If it isn't, that's probably down to the previous guest, like the time someone didn't flush. The staff do their best with English and check whether they can help. Guests can use a lobby computer, coffee and tea, a microwave, and room temperature water from pitchers, in addition to the bottled water provided each day. There's paid laundry, and I think they may order food too, since they asked us about breakfast. It's a shoes-off hostel, with slippers provided for indoors. The only real downside was a cat poop or pee smell by the shoe racks outside. I think it came from a neighbor, as the staff were diligent about cleaning. It wasn't too strong and was confined to that spot, so stepping away got you out of it. For me, that was a minor thing next to all the convenience and the more hotel-like treatment I got at Stay Hostel.
