For a budget hotel in one of Bangkok’s busiest areas, it was about what I expected, and it did the job. On the first day I had to kill two cockroaches in my room, with others already dead outside. Under the bed had never been cleaned, and a mushroom even grew beside the sink in a day.

The smell was unbearable, and there was so much noise at night that you won’t get any sleep. We found a spider in the bed when we arrived, and the sheets had holes. This is the worst hostel ever. The place is terrible, so avoid it at all costs and don’t come here.

The room smelled awful and wasn’t clean. The bedding had holes, and the towels were dirty and ripped. I asked for a refund after five minutes, but they refused and moved me to another room. That one was worse, with dirty towels and dust and dirt everywhere. It’s not worth even 100b to stay here.

Cheq inn Beds is cheap, the staff are friendly, and I’ve stayed there many times and felt safe. It’s hard to find a more central location, especially if you want to enjoy Bangkok’s fun side. Beer restaurants, massage shops, 7-Eleven, and ganja shops are close by, and bum bum girls are everywhere if you’re interested. The Nana BST station and bus stops are also just a short, usually sweaty Bangkok walk away. Best of all, the hotel sits right in the middle of the sinful atmosphere around Sukhumvit Road and Nana. It’s not a five star hotel, of course.

The shower and sink had no working water pressure, so after a long, hot day in Bangkok I couldn’t wash properly. I asked the front desk to fix it or move me to another room, but they brushed me off and said nothing could be done. I ended up trying to shower with bottled water.
