Sz Canalside Hotel

The hotel and rooms look nice, but the pool is ridiculous. Half of it is a construction site, and just four lounge chairs are available for the whole pool, despite how many rooms there are and how large they are.

I loved my stay here. The room was beautiful, and the view from the window really impressed me. Breakfast was delicious each morning. I’d gladly come back.

The stay began well. We were welcomed quickly, offered juice in the waiting room, and looked after once we had our keys. Later, though, we found there was no outlet in the bathroom, the area underneath the sink had a cattle-like substance, and plastic around the sink covered a hole in the wall. The lighting system was odd but okay, while the staircase was under construction. The rooftop pool area lacked atmosphere and wasn’t pleasant. Checkout took over 20 minutes, then we were told we had to pay because the pillowcase was dirty. It seemed strange since pillowcases are washed after each guest, but staff insisted it would have to be torn out and demanded money.

The rooftop and pool are amazing, and the rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel is a bit out of the city, which gives you a view of the Bangkok skyline. You need to leave a 2000tbh deposit at check-in.
