There are loads of good places to eat nearby, from Thai food that's tasty and reasonably priced to Japanese, Chinese, and Western options, including both healthier dishes and comfort food. The Bang Khun Phrom Suites is my favourite guesthouse in my favourite part of the city. It's family run, warm and attentive, and feels safe and comfortable. Tucked away from the main street, it's so quiet that I can almost forget I'm in the city. If you want to get away from skyscrapers, huge shopping centres, crowds, and traffic, this neighbourhood is hard to beat.

The awkward part was the 500THB key deposit. Asking for that is ridiculous, especially on your last night in the country. Otherwise, the room was comfortable, with a large double bed and a good air conditioner. The shower has its own walled-off section, so the rest of the bathroom stays dry. They also provide a kettle, cups, tea, coffee, and a hairdryer.

It's a little tucked back from the street, so we had trouble finding it at first. That does make for a quiet night's sleep, away from the main road noise. The rooms are clean and tidied every day, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great location near Khaosan Rd. and the main sights. A nice, neat place.
