The Campus Hostel Thonglor

It was very clean, and the staff were nice, but they weren’t helpful when I had questions or wanted information about Bangkok. The neighborhood is quieter and calmer, away from many of the touristy parts, though weekends were difficult because the place shares a wall with a KTV and gets very loud. I booked a 4bed form but was given a 6 bed dorm, and I’m not sure they actually have 4 bed dorms. The lockers are outside the rooms, which is really inconvenient. Beds were rock hard, like in most of Asia, but each had a light, plug, and curtain. The showers didn’t seem to keep hot water going for more than 30 seconds.

The location was great, very close to BTS in Thonglor, where there are lots of restaurants and bars. It’s a newly renovated, clean place with a nice bar downstairs. The rooms with lots of bunk beds make it a good option for groups. I enjoyed everything and had no complaints.

There’s clean drinking water available, but the stay was still awful. Check-in and checkout were so unpleasant I don’t even want to get into it. The shower area felt suffocating, there was no hot water, no elevator, and no air conditioning in the shared space. Karaoke places nearby kept things noisy, so light sleepers should expect a rough night. There are far better options in central Bangkok. I’d avoid this one.

I spent two weeks here with friends and have good memories of the place. It was clean, including the shower room, though that room was really small. Since you’re sharing, make sure your valuables are kept somewhere secure.
