The Key Bangkok Sukhumvit

Room 203 was quiet and seemed well soundproofed, but its only window faced the corridor, with adjustable binds over it, so there was no natural light. I’d have preferred a room with daylight. There’s a weighing scale in the lobby. The area has plenty of massage places, and it’s a short walk to Terminal 21, Asok BTS, and Sukhumvit MRT station.

Terminal 21 and Asok station are only about a five-minute walk away, and we didn’t hear noise from other rooms thanks to pretty good soundproofing. During our four-day trip, check-in was smooth, no deposit was needed because we booked through Trip.com, and we were welcomed with a cold glass of Chrysanthemum Tea 🌼 The staff and concierge were friendly and accommodating. We asked for daily cleaning and came back to fresh towels each time. The room stayed clean, with no unpleasant surprises. My only complaint is that the pillows were really soft, and might give you a sore neck if you’re not used to that. 😂

The hotel is in an excellent location, although taxi traffic can get very bad. Having two train stations nearby is a plus. Staff service was good, especially from the security doorman, who was lovely. I booked the room shown in the photos, but the bathroom walls looked completely different. Maybe there was construction or repair work going on, but I wish they’d told me ahead of time instead of leaving me with an unwelcome surprise. Ants were already in the room on the first day, so they clearly hadn’t just arrived. More kept appearing in the bathroom and on the table as the days went by.

All the staff were extremely nice and friendly, and there’s a scale in the lobby if you need to weigh yourself or your luggage. I think I stayed in room 304(?) for a few nights and room 201(?) as well. The standard 304 had no windows and was fully sound-insulated. Room 201(?) cost about 300 baht more, was larger, and had a window with no view, but I heard random street noise there. Both rooms had a kitchenette and mini-fridge. There’s a little bar downstairs, and two 7-11s are just a three-minute walk away. You can walk to three subway stations and Terminal21. For a quicker trip, especially at rush hour, just get a Grab moto-taxi. There are lots of restaurants nearby, plus the Terminal21 food court. For an early Thai breakfast or snack, I highly recommend the food stalls beside the post office a couple blocks away.
