The Quarter Ratchayothin by UHG

I was there to pick up tourists, so I can’t comment on the rooms. The hotel staff gave me good service from the door to the lobby, which was cozy, and the restroom was clean. The space outside the lobby is limited and awkward for turning around 😅, but it was fine. I especially liked the 7-11 next door and the seats where you can sit. The location is near a BTS station. For historical sights, it’s not ideal because they’re quite far away. But if you want to see everyday street life, especially on a weekday, you’ll see the traffic jams! I like this hotel brand. I’ve also been to its Chaophraya branch and liked that one too. 🙂

There’s plenty nearby, from the lively Chatuchak Weekend Market and night markets to a large shopping mall and supermarket, plus a 7-Eleven right outside. The hotel is on a high floor with great views and is close to the airport with easy access that avoids traffic. Inside, it’s clean and modern with fresh, stylish decor. Staff were friendly and communicative, service felt effortless, and security gave me peace of mind. I highly recommend it for a great stay.

The hotel is modern and nice, and good value for the price, but the highway noise kept us from sleeping at night in our city-facing rooms. The windows aren’t soundproof. I also wish breakfast had more options suitable for Muslim guests, especially since many Muslim visitors stay here and Bangkok attracts a lot of Muslim tourists. Checkout was upsetting. We were wrongly accused of damaging the pillows and asked to pay, even though we hadn’t done it. When I asked them to prove it, they said they always provide fresh items during room service. My wife then asked how the bed sheet had a stain if that was the case, and they had no answer. The money itself wasn’t a big deal, but being falsely accused was unfair, uncomfortable, and unnecessary, and spoiled what had otherwise been a pleasant stay. Staff communication was very poor.

The location is convenient, with an MRT station about a five-minute walk away, but it couldn’t make up for the stay. We were on the 24th floor and heard traffic day and night because the sound insulation was so poor. The breakfast buffet had limited choice, and strong sun through the large windows on the 19th floor made it hot and glaring. The restaurant floor was dirty during our visit. The hotel is advertised as newly built, but it looked more like an older property that had been refurbished. The renovation was poorly done, with messy paint and reused fixtures throughout. Staff were generally unfriendly, and most spoke very little English. Only the daytime reception staff could communicate at a basic level, which suggested gaps in staffing and management standards. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel or return.
