I liked the hotel's vintage colonial style and the little garden, and I liked that it isn't in a very touristy area. There aren't other hotels around. Nearby restaurants and food stalls feel local, in both atmosphere and prices, which suits you if you're after a Thai cultural experience rather than the usual western bars and restaurants. Those are about a 15-20 walk at Samsen road. The rooms were clean but a bit dated. It didn't feel like a 5 stars hotel as claimed, more like a 4 stars standard, and my executive room was quite small, without even a table and chair. The staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive, so I had a positive stay overall.
