The Tarntawan Hotel Surawong Bangkok

The location works really well, especially if you're here for queer nightlife, and the staff are lovely across the board, from the security guard to housekeeping and the front desk. The rooms and building feel a little dated, but for the price and where it is, it’s a good fit. I’d happily recommend staying here.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, though a little more light in them would make things better. What keeps bringing me back to this Bangkok hotel is the care from the team. Max is especially warm and dedicated, and always ready to go out of his way when I need something. The security guard at the entrance is friendly too, and makes you feel welcome straight away. Every visit feels memorable because of the service. I’ll gladly return and recommend the place to friends.

I first came to Bangkok in 2004, and across more than 20 visits since then, I’ve always stayed at the Tarntawan Hotel. The location, service, and staff are hard to beat. Max at the Front Desk and the rest of the employees have consistently been friendly, attentive, and helpful. Some have been there for at least the 22 years I’ve been visiting, and they still remember my name each time.

I keep returning for the spacious room and the location. There’s a full minibar and two bottles of drinking water included. The hotel is quite old, and the elevator is small. Some staff were very friendly, though others came across as cold and unfriendly.
