CU I House

I attended a research academy here a year ago. It was a nice hotel for students. There was a minimarket on the first floor where we could get halal food. The cafe didn't have a halal menu, but overall I liked the place.

After arriving late at night, tired, I found a small cockroach in my room and had to kill it myself. Then I spotted a large one crawling around. The guy at reception just came in, picked up the cockroach, and left without an apology or explanation. That was unbelievable, with no professionalism or respect for guests. The mattress was terrible too, cheap and uncomfortable, not acceptable for a hotel charging real money. This place is a complete joke. I regret booking it and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We stayed for a short trip at day rates, so the room was cleaned every day. It met our needs and was reasonably priced for central Bangkok. Check-in was quick and the front desk was friendly, though we were surprised to find a massive crack in the wall when we first entered. It's fine for students, as long as you don't expect anything fancy. The Wi-Fi was hard to figure out, but students can use eduroam. A few facility notes: there's no kettle or kitchen. There are two shared microwaves, four dryers, and four washers that you pay to use.

On work trips, this is my go-to. The rooms are large and functional, and the location in the university international house is central. Works perfectly for a short getaway too.
