Triple Two Silom Boutique Hotel

The service was great, and the staff were kind and helpful. The room itself was clean, with fast internet and generously sized towels, almost basketball-player size. But the breakfast wasn't very good, the pillow was so big it could be a problem if you have neck issues, and the bath mat hanging beside the tub was yellowish. The shower pressure was weak while the bidet was extremely powerful, so be careful with that. The hotel has a gloomy feel because the lighting is dim, especially inside the elevator, whose wallpaper I found a little creepy. The location was okay.

The room was huge and comfortable, but that was about the only thing I liked. At $100 a night, it didn't feel worth the money. Check-in was mechanical and unwelcoming, and our room and the whole floor smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The pool is at another property and gets busy since several hotels share it. For a supposed four-star hotel, the rest was disappointing. I'd look for somewhere else.

The pool is pretty good, with plenty of space and a deep end, though it gets crowded in the afternoon, so get a sunbed early. The overall value for money is why I'm giving it five stars. The place is clean, the staff are excellent, and the gym could just as well be closed: most of the equipment is broken or only partly working, and there's not much there anyway. The cleaning lady is very keen to get in at 9 a.m. and keeps ringing, so I was always adjusting the do-not-disturb sign. Those huge, thick pillows are my main gripe. They're thicker than two regular pillows together, and my neck and back were still bothering me a week later.

The area has loads nearby, including street food, cafes, a market and tailors, all within a short walk. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, the staff are helpful, and breakfast is decent. There's a nice bar and restaurant at the front. The pool and gym are shared with the hotel next door.
