Tropical Summer Cafe & Hostel

The receptionist was nice, but the hostel was full of bedbugs! I saw three people leave on the first day because of them. They just sprayed some liquid and prepared the bed again for the next person. 💀

The employees were really kind and did their best to help. For the price, the room was totally okay, with everything you need, though it was a little noisy and not very spacious. The location was okay too, about a 10-minute walk from the metro. Honestly, the rooftop bar wasn't very inviting.

The price was really good, and the hostel had a nice interior. The staff were very nice and willing to help during our two-night stay. But the shower and toilet weren't fully clean, with hair, a bloody plaster and chalk, among other things. At the end we found bedbugs in both our dorm beds. I wouldn't recommend staying here for a longer time.

The area is nice: walk one way for local food and shops, or head the other way into a business district with a very different feel. The room had a great smart TV, and the toilet was clean and spacious with a good water heater. The guy at reception was responsive and friendly, but the other staff weren't friendly and ignored us. They charge 10 baht for instant coffee, so you're better off going to one of the many quaint cafes on the main road. For what they charge for a private room, the hostel leaves a lot to be desired. Sewage smells came into the room daily from the shared toilets just outside, and the room wasn't soundproof, so we heard everything happening in them. The walls and ceiling seemed mostly non-concrete and flimsy enough to punch a hole in. The TV console drawer and bedside shelves also looked old and fragile. There were lots of ants in the room, if that's an issue for you. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. I think there are better situated places in the area that offer better value.
