White House Asoke Sukhumvit 18

A nice budget stay, with a really friendly, attentive and hospitable team. The lobby has a lovely smell all the time, which makes sense since there's also a mango and rice place there.

The rooms are on the small side, but they do the job and are kept neat. The shower, air conditioning, and other facilities all worked well. There's a small elevator, and it gets you where you need to go.

The location is hard to beat, right at Sukhumvit Rd. and Soi 18, around 100 meters from the BTS/MRT, one stop from the Airport Rail Link, and TERMINAL21. A handy currency exchange is 50 meters away, and a big Seven Eleven is just 20 meters away. White House Asoke is a simple, minimal hotel with very clean rooms, an elevator, and stairs at the back. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but have what you need, including air conditioning, a fridge, TV, phone, safety box, and fast Wi-Fi. For an affordable place to sleep in such a convenient spot, this is the best and cheapest hotel in Asoke.

This was poor. It felt like a bait and switch, and the room looked nothing like the pictures. I don't have high standards, especially when travelling in Asia, but mine was dirty, from cobwebs to the decor. The bathroom was mouldy, there was no window, and sewage smell came up from the shower drain. There was more, and I ended up leaving early. Be careful. Paying an extra 400 baht could get you somewhere better nearby.
