White House Hostel

I've never stayed in a more unfriendly, unwelcoming hostel. From check-in, it felt like the staff didn't care about guests. Everyone I dealt with at reception, on both the day and night shifts, was extremely rude and unhelpful whenever I asked for help. The night-shift guy was the worst. Even a simple question seemed to bother him, and he wouldn't help. The long-haired woman with glasses was also unwelcoming and unhelpful. She kept me waiting for hours on the day I checked out and never apologized. I stayed during the first week of January 2026, and nearly missed my flight because the desk was repeatedly empty at checkout. Staff left signs saying they'd be back in 10-20 minutes, but were actually gone for 1-3 hours or longer. No one was there when guests needed help. The hostel itself is very basic. My room was okay, and the bed was soft and comfortable, but there was a strong smell I couldn't stand. Every time I left my room, I could smell a bad odor from the toilet area. The place also felt chaotic, with random things, luggage, and clutter everywhere. Reception was almost always unattended and very hot. They had a sign saying the air conditioning was broken, though I saw staff turn it on and use it themselves sometimes. Leaving the front desk empty during checkout, when guests are rushing to flights, is unacceptable. There was no responsibility, urgency, or basic customer service, no apologies, explanations, or accountability. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this hostel. If cleanliness, organization, basic respect, or making your flight matter to you, stay somewhere else.
