Zleep63 - Hostel

I was there for one night before an early flight. The toilets, bedroom and shared areas were clean, and the place felt homey. Shops and restaurants are nearby, and it’s walkable to Don Mueang airport. There’s a bird cage and fish aquarium outside. There were “keep quiet” signs everywhere, so even my phone call was a whisper. The AC was set to 25°C and felt too hot, though with only two of us I could manage. There wasn’t an outlet by my bed, which made charging my phone difficult.

I couldn’t sleep well in this bunk room. The upper bunk was so close to the air conditioner that cold air blew straight onto my head and body. The lower bunk, meanwhile, stayed dark because the small ceiling light only reached the top bed, and there was no bed light below. Maybe the fleas were breeding down there. I was bitten all night and felt extremely itchy. The floor was clean, but the fleas on the bed made this a terrible stay.

The location is convenient, with a 7 Eleven within walking distance. Before you get there, on the left side of the street, there’s a small family-run shop I loved. I spent much of my time sitting at their outdoor table and chatting with them. If you drink alcohol, you can buy it there, since the closest 7 Eleven doesn’t sell any. The area felt dodgy, and I didn’t feel safe walking around in the evening. The owner was rude and not helpful at all. I also felt the place was falsely advertised: there’s only one bathroom plus a separate toilet, and “keep quiet” signs are all over the home hostel. I suspect the reviews may have been from a previous owner.

The manager had an angry look and was unkind. There was nothing special inside. The main door was closed at midnight, and no key was supplied.
