I Calm Resort

The quiet beach walk at night was a real plus. It’s away from the main tourist stretch, so the area stays peaceful, though that also puts the hotel a little distance from the main strip. The rooms are high quality and the service was spot on. Breakfast is included; it wasn’t amazing, but calling it bad would be too harsh. For getting around, I’d rent a motorbike since taxis add up. In my experience, traffic on this road moves slowly, unlike when you leave Cha-am. For the price, this is easily the best hotel around here, and I’d recommend it.

The pool is large, clean, and has an infinity edge looking out toward Cha Am Beach. Our Deluxe Double Room was roomy and clean too, with a big shower stall that had both handheld and rainfall showerheads. There was a spacious balcony with two rocking chairs, and since our room faced east, we could sit there and watch the sunrise. The breakfast was decent, with a choice of egg and toast, green salad, or Thai-style porridge, plus juice and a hot drink. It’s south of Cha Am Beach, so it’s usually quiet and makes for a peaceful holiday. This is the best place I’ve stayed in the area. My only very minor suggestion: the shower floor gets slippery when it’s soapy, and I was traveling with a senior, so an anti-slip mat would be safer.

It’s a calm area, though the hotel is a little outside town, so a motorbike would make getting around easier. The hotel is right by the beach, but swimming there isn’t possible. The pool is nice and the rooms are a good size, although the place is a bit worn. Breakfast comes from a set menu and can be ordered to the room, but I didn’t think it was very good. For the price, the hotel is okay.

The staff were excellent to deal with, and breakfast had a good selection. Our room was large and comfortable, with a great bed and pillows. It’s right on the beach, which made for a great location.
