SP Place

It's an old building, but it's kept very clean.

The place is peaceful and quiet, in a convenient spot, and reasonably priced. The rooms are really clean. I'd happily return, and would recommend it to anyone planning to stay.

I stayed September 15-16, 2023, and had a terrible experience with the male caretaker. He repeatedly banged on my door to ask whether the housekeeper was coming to clean, and wouldn't stop until I opened it. I was in the shower and got such a fright that I rushed out. He also wouldn't let friends, relatives, or partners visit upstairs at night. They had to stay outside the building to talk. He told me, "I won't let you up. If you want to talk, talk downstairs!" I was paying for a hotel room, not a dorm, and he seemed to act as though his own place had a guest room. There wasn't even a lobby, just a spot where dogs and cats slept in front. I've stayed in hotels in every province and never seen anything like this. Is this a hotel, a dorm, or a condominium? The caretaker also asked what time guests were leaving for work. That's not something you should ask a guest. There was only a small allowance of toilet paper, around 15-20 sheets. When I asked the housekeeper for more, they said they'd been told to put out that amount. Dogs and cats wandered all across the front and practically jumped on guests. Even after I said I was afraid of dogs, the caretaker said, "They won't bite. They sleep blocking the doorway, guests have to step over them when entering and exiting." That was such a mess.
