Suntara Wellness Resort & Hotel

The lobby, restaurant, and some other amenities are being renovated. The place has improved a lot since I was here in 2013, though connectivity in my room is still weak. It's a good spot to relax away from the city.

I paid extra for a river-view room, but didn't get one. When I asked, they said they no longer had that room. The trip, holiday, and money all felt wasted. Book somewhere else.

Everything was good. The river view was lovely, and the price was reasonable.

This place is so isolated that once you're here, you don't have much choice, yet the prices are like Bangkok's. If you bring your team for a company trip, don't be surprised if they start looking for other jobs. The staff didn't smile at all. Everyone looked miserable. The listed amenities were hard to find: I couldn't find the spa, which might be in the construction area, or the gym. The "minimart" was just two fridges beside the bar, and mosquitoes were everywhere, free of charge. I kept wandering around expecting there to be some hidden part with all the good things, but eventually gave up and went to the pool. There are lights strung along the riverside that nobody turns on at night, and a cool-looking bar by the river that sat empty with no one working. None of the signs are in English, so if you can't read Thai, you won't know where they point.
