Forest Bungalows & Mama's Restaurant

The menu is worth a visit for homemade Thai food. We had seafood Pad See Ew, seafood Pad Thai, Tom Kha with seafood, and fruit bowls. The quality and prices were a pleasant surprise, and everything was super tasty. We ate here many times since it was close to our hotel. The listing says the restaurant opens only twice a week, but it’s actually open six days, with Saturday as the only day it’s closed. If you want affordable, high-quality food in Phuket, this is the spot. Big thanks to the staff!

Mama Restaurant served fresh, flavorful food that tasted like it was made with a lot of love. I’m a bodybuilder with a specific meal plan, and they kindly set up a microwave in my room so I could stick to it. The staff were thoughtful about small things too, like topping up my water and checking I had what I needed. From the moment I arrived at Forest Bungalow, everyone was warm, caring, and went out of their way to help me feel comfortable. They arranged airport transfers and answered my questions about the area with a smile. The hospitality felt personal, and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay in Phuket. It’s peaceful and run by genuinely kind people. I’m grateful for how well they treated me and will stay here again next time I’m in Phuket.

I’ve been coming back for over a year. Mama and papa are lovely and welcoming, and the employees are kind and good at sorting things out. The restaurant has the best food on the soi, at very affordable prices. Always a go-to for me!

I hate leaving one star because the owner is very kind, but health matters most. Some of the female staff seemed rude, though. On the evening of February 12, I ate chicken breast with mashed potatoes and got food poisoning. I threw up more than five times during the night, then had an international flight the next day. It was the worst part of my vacation. I’m not brave enough to eat here again. Sorry.
