Ra Residence Phuket

Right in the middle of fitness street, so it suited me well for relaxing between classes. The room was spacious and very clean, with a large TV.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a lot of useful gear: air con, a standing fan, huge fridge, hair dryer, microwave, bread toaster, water heater, plus two chairs, a table, and a clothes rack on the balcony. I got lucky with a room at the back, so I hardly heard any revving engines. Finding the property can be tricky, especially after dark. Check out my video and you’ll see what I mean.

That back-facing balcony at Ra Residences made a big difference for me. I could keep the curtains open, unlike at the other places on the soi where people walked past the windows. Having to keep the curtains shut made those rooms dark and cave-like, so I loved that this wasn’t an issue here. I stayed for two weeks and really enjoyed it. I trained in Chalong for three months and tried several hotels, and this was easily my favorite. The rooms are lovely and have a microwave, toaster, water cooker, dishes, and cutlery. The beds are huge and comfortable, and the aircon is powerful but quiet. I’d definitely recommend the place.

The mountain-facing room was a nice spot for breakfast on the small balcony, and being at the back of the building meant it was quieter at night. The room itself is simple, modern, and clean, with tile floors, Wi-Fi, TV, plenty of sockets, reverse cycle AC, and a fan. I slept comfortably, and the linen was changed regularly. There’s basic cutlery and a microwave, fridge, and kettle for noodles or simple snacks. You’re right by the boxing street, with lots in walking distance, two Family Marts nearby, and the weekend night markets about 15 minutes away by scooter. The building entrance uses a keypad. There’s no parking, though you can leave a scooter on the front porch off the street. The cafe next door makes good coffee too. The water went off for a few hours while I was there. I called the owners, and they brought water to flush the toilet. The building pumps were working again the next morning. For a cheap and cheerful stay, this is a great choice. I’d come back.
