The guesthouse looks really cool, but communication about the activities was lacking. The guided hike advertised as 7KM was actually 4KM, though we had to pay for 7. The big hike wasn’t available, and neither was the nature trail. Breakfast was made with care, but wasn’t as advertised. We left after one night instead of staying three. This wasn’t really our thing, especially during the Shambalaya hippie festival. If you’re after a low-key guesthouse with some noise and lively activity around it, this could suit you. For comfort, a good-quality breakfast, or a more central Chiang Dao location, I’d look elsewhere.

The hosts are warm and friendly. They ask about your day, offer recommendations, and somehow make coming back feel like returning home instead of to a hotel. The views of the mountain are great, the rooms are excellent, and there’s good WiFi plus plenty of room to work. It’s also well placed for Chiang Dao’s activities. Best place I’ve stayed in Thailand. I can’t recommend it enough. Stay here and you won’t regret it!

The room, buddy, was very basic at the back of the property. As other reviews mention, the building is poorly insulated, and I woke up whenever someone upstairs went to the toilet. Breakfast was okay, but coffee from their machine costs extra. I’d go 50m towards the caves instead, to get much better coffee from the lovely people at a little roadside cafe. I stayed one night and hadn’t realized a big hippie festival was on. Maybe that’s why the service wasn’t the usual good standard I’d read about, since the owners had a booth at the festival. There were several communication problems: I had to walk from town to the guesthouse with a heavy bag, and was served chicken despite mentioning several times that I was vegetarian. Nothing major, but not what I expected after all the glowing reviews.

My boyfriend booked this pet-friendly place for a weekend away, and we both had a great stay with my Pomeranian. The owners were really welcoming and made it feel like home. The menu food was so good, and there’s a nice range of cold craft beers, too. Mac c 'n

Such warm hosts, and a lovely place to stay in Chiang Dao. My room was cozy with a great view, just right for recharging, working, or reading. The cafe has its own craft beers, too. I can’t wait to return.
