Chiang Dao Roundhouses

The staff were wonderful, and it was a treat to have breakfast each day. Having coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and a fridge available all day was great. The location and peaceful setting were lovely. The homes can get a bit cold at night in winter, and the internet only works outdoors, but I found both manageable and had a wonderful stay.

Susie was a great host. Before we arrived, she messaged to ask about my friend's and my needs, including dietary requirements and whether we needed a transfer. When we got there, she gave us a kind introduction and suggested good places to eat after we'd explored locally. The rooms were airy, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with local salads, fruit, and teas, as there are many organic farms in the area. The outdoor bathrooms were a fun novelty and beautifully creative, and the showers were warm. The stay felt personal and charmingly different from a regular hotel. Stay here if you're looking for something very different.

Maggie was a wonderful host, and we had a great time in Chiang Dao visiting the cave, temples, and hot springs. Still, one of our favorite parts was staying in one of her charming roundhouses. We enjoyed relaxing there and taking in the scenery as much as going out to explore. Maggie has created a truly unique place to share with guests. I highly recommend it for a stay in Chiang Dao.

Breakfast on the terrace by the peaceful pond comes with views of the Chiang Dao mountains, and it would be a perfect place to run retreats. The British owner Maggi is the sweetest host. This is our first choice of Bed & Breakfast when we attend the Shambhala Festival. We love the pretty, sustainably built cottages, decorated with glass, mosaics, and murals, as well as the al fresco bathrooms.
