Amethyst Hotel Chiang Mai

I spent a lovely 10 days here. It’s a fabulous family-run hotel, and the owners and sweet staff do everything to make you feel at home. The old Thai style mixed with modern comforts works beautifully. My room felt like a dream, with gilded walls, plenty of light, a wardrobe, a long desk, nightstands on both sides of the bed, a good bed, and a little balcony looking out to palm trees. The big cement bathtub had a delicate shape, and there was hot water whenever I wanted to shower. Breakfast was served whenever I came down, and there was lots of it. Free water was available anytime, which feels rare these days. The pool area was pleasant, with a huge tree for shade and beautiful flowers all around. Thank you.

The place has a storybook feel and a homely atmosphere. It’s farther from the center, which gives it peace and quiet away from the city. I stayed for three nights and found it a wonderful place to relax and do some sightseeing. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and I really enjoyed breakfast. My room and bathroom were large enough that I could spread all my things out easily. To get to the center, you can take Bolt for about 100 THB or Grab for about 180 THB. You can also order food to the hotel through Grab, which is a nice option.

Thanks for everything. The owners are the sweetest people, and the place is quiet, away from the city’s crazy bustle. If you want good sleep, a nice pool, and somewhere to properly chill, this is a great spot.

A small family-run hotel with really friendly owners. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, and the garden is beautiful, with a spot for breakfast. The pool was clean and nice and cool. We’d recommend this cozy place.
