Anantara Chiang Mai

The service is amazing, the rooms have every amenity you’d need, and the breakfast is outstanding. The anantara remains a favorite: I first stayed there with my parents 12 years ago, and my mom still talks about it. This year my husband and I returned, and it still met and exceeded expectations. It’s beautifully set along the river, peaceful while still in the heart of the city. You can walk to the night bizarre, and there are great restaurants nearby, yet the hotel feels like a quiet escape. I can’t speak highly enough of it. If you’re wondering whether to stay, you won’t regret it.

The gardens and pool are beautiful and distinctive, with a coy pond surrounding the pool on all sides. We had a spacious Suite with lovely views of the resort and literally everything we needed. The facilities were immaculate, luxurious, and kept to a high standard. The atmosphere felt elevated but relaxed. This is a magical resort in the heart of Chiang Mai, right by the beautiful river and a 3 minutes walk from the best night market in Chiang Mai, Ansuran Market. The service was impeccable, and the team was professional and on top of everything. Breakfast was incredible, with Northern Thai dishes, a huge luxurious buffet, and an included à la carte menu with more options than you could get through. It felt like a 6-star resort, not 5. I can’t imagine a better family experience for our trip, and I’ll certainly be back!

We’ve been traveling around Thailand for a month, and Anantara Chiang Mai Resort has been the best experience of our trip. The staff made us feel at home, with customer service that’s unmatched. A special thanks to Jed, who helped whenever we needed anything and made the stay effortless. If you visit, definitely ask for him! Our room was spotless and had an amazing river view. Each evening we returned to find the bed prepared with slippers and a thoughtful note, a really special touch. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, and the whole property was beautifully maintained and incredibly clean. We highly recommend staying here. It exceeded every expectation.

The food was very good, and everyone we dealt with was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The room suited the local feel of Chaing Mai, with a river view, though it also faced walkways, restaurants and the rooftop bar. We had to keep the blinds closed much of the time since people could see straight in, which cut down on the view. At the steakhouse, our waitress asked us to scan a QR code at the end of dinner and leave her a good rating. It felt awkward and made the interaction seem less genuine. I don't know why she was the only staff member to ask during our whole stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location.
