Anodard Hotel Chiang Mai

I travel a lot, and this was the worst hotel service I’ve ever had. The staff were inattentive, unhelpful, and sometimes rude, and they took no serious steps to fix the problems I reported. Cleanliness was unacceptable too: the room seemed not to have been properly cleaned for months, the facilities were poorly kept, and the whole place felt neglected. I strongly don’t recommend staying here.

I spent 12 nights at Anodard Hotel. The rooms aren’t luxurious, but mine was clean and had air conditioning and a refrigerator. The staff were kind and helpful. You can book a driver to the airport or bus station, and probably for private tours as well. Staying here also gave me access to the pool at the hotel next door. The photos are from my room.

The location inside the old city walls is great, and there’s lots of space and plenty of parking. The hotel itself is worn out and poorly maintained. My bed, sheets, and towels were well past due for replacement, the room smelled like it had been smoked in for 40 years, and the air conditioner barely worked. Staff were inconsistent, sometimes very good and other times nowhere to be found.

I’d happily stay here again. It’s right inside Chiang Mai’s Old City, within the mile-square "Moat", and easy to walk to food, venues, and events. The staff were amazing, polite, and helpful, and especially patient with all my questions. Their suggestions for local things to do were always spot on. My only complaint was that the room doors didn’t slide smoothly open to the closet. For what I paid, I felt I did very well.
