My wife, another couple of friends and I had a memorable dinner at B Samcook Home Based Dining in Chiang Mai. From the moment we arrived, Sam and the staff made us feel welcome and cared for. The menu was creative, blending influences from different cultures while staying Thai at heart. The food was thoughtfully made with quality ingredients, including organic vegetables and edible flowers freshly picked from their garden. The standout for me was the rich, flavourful, beautifully balanced Tom Yum soup. Beef with truffle chill sauce and smoked duck are also dishes I'd recommend. Sam even brought out extra dishes for everyone to share after we thought the meal was over. We were celebrating my wife's birthday, and the team made it extra special with a beautiful elephant-patterned skirt and thoughtful local souvenirs for her. Every dish and moment made this feel like much more than a meal. We loved the warm, personal experience and will definitely return on our next visit to Chiang Mai.

I left the restaurant smiling and already thinking about coming back. The food was the culinary highlight of our Thailand trip, with creative combinations of cuisines and every course bursting with flavour. The owner and chef introduced the dishes themselves, and the warm atmosphere made the evening feel special. Service was friendly and very attentive: our drinks were regularly topped up, and they even arranged a taxi for our ride back. I'm grateful for such an unforgettable meal.

The owner made us feel cared for as soon as we arrived, about ten minutes before our booking. He gave my daughter a little stuffed elephant and carefully asked about our allergies. I'd read the lovely recommendations online and booked through Facebook, hoping to surprise my husband with a birthday lunch while we were visiting from overseas. The owner really was as warm and welcoming as people had said. Before each course, he briefly explained the ingredients. It was thoughtful and clear without being fussy, and we could start eating right away. The dishes brought Thai flavours together with influences from other cuisines, in a way that surprised us and tasted different from what we'd imagined. The blend felt just right, so even after flying all the way to Thailand, it never felt like an ordinary Western meal. Our whole family loved the food. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Thanks, Chef, for such a wonderful experience. It was one of the most beautiful highlights of our trip.

The meal was the best I had in Thailand, and the Chef took time to explain each dish as it arrived. Everyone we met, from the first greeting to the ride back to our lodging, made us feel well looked after. I’d happily recommend the experience.

Though the place was a little hard to find, it felt warm and comfortable once we were there. The Chef explained the ingredients and how each dish was prepared, and was happy to adjust portions to suit each guest. My Tom Yum was too spicy for me, so the Chef quickly made a milder, non-spicy version. That thoughtful response really touched me. The snacks, gifts, and transportation service all added to the hospitality. A memorable meal, and an easy perfect score from me.
