B2 Thippanate Boutique & Budget Hotel

The shower was the one letdown for me. Pressure was a bit weak, and getting a comfortable temperature was tricky, it swung between too hot and too cold. The hotel itself is clean and welcoming, with an interesting, stylish design along Thippanate Road. Having a pool is a nice extra after a long day out.

The rooms are older and could use fresh paint and a deep clean. The reception experience was frustrating too. One young staff member spoke so softly on the phone that I couldn't hear her, though she was answering calls for the hotel. Another insisted on seeing my physical passport to check the visas, even after I showed my Thai driver's licence and passport page photos. After four months in Thailand and stays at dozens of hotels, I had to dig it out of my backpack. I was alone, but she wouldn't give me a large bed because the booking was for twins. Then the room card wasn't activated, so I had to come back down from the fourth floor. The reception staff need training.

The room was dusty and the bed uncomfortable. It gets very dark at night, and the water heater sometimes doesn't work properly, so be careful or you could get burned.

Clean, comfortable, and well kept. I had a good stay and would recommend it.
