My four nights at Brique Hotel in October 2024 for an academic conference were a really good experience. I paid around INR 15,500 total for a Premier Deluxe Room (1 King Bed) for one adult, which felt like good value for the quality. At around INR 4,000 a night, it’s not a budget hotel, but I’d choose it again and recommend it to couples, academics, and travelers looking for comfort, cleanliness, and good service. The staff were polite, kind, professional, and helpful. Reception welcomed me and patiently pointed out nearby places. Housekeeping came daily, and when I asked for fresh beddings they handled it professionally. One staff member used an online translator app to communicate, which I appreciated. The room was quiet and spotless, great for resting or academic work. The bed had a thick, soft, very comfortable mattress, and the beddings were neat and clean. Furniture included two chairs and a table. The air-conditioning was easy to adjust, with its remote fixed near the entrance. There was a small minibar to keep drinks cool, a useful compact locker for valuables, and a large TV that turned on automatically when I unlocked the room with the access card. My balcony overlooked the swimming pool and a city pond, a pleasant spot to unwind after long conference days. The bathroom was immaculate, without visible water marks. It had small towels for hands and face, large bathing towels, a 360-degree mirror, good toiletries, a powerful hair dryer, and hot water at all times. Breakfast was included on all four mornings, unlimited, and top-notch. They served Thai and English cuisines, and I especially liked the hot chocolate. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The elevator was very clean and required the room access card. I used the pool almost every afternoon after conference sessions, often swimming for over an hour. It has lovely city and sunset views. There’s a gym beside it, paid laundry service, and a spacious, pleasant lobby and common area near reception. The airport is around 13-14 Kilometres away. We booked a van at the airport exit and got there in about 30 minutes. A cab via the Grab app might be more convenient. Nearby are 7-Eleven stores, massage parlours, local markets, cafes, restaurants, and temples, so daily needs are easy to manage. My one issue was not finding a proper place to dry my washed clothes.

We slept well because the bed was extremely comfortable, the main upside of the room. The furniture feels dated, the bathroom is small, the hot water was unreliable, and the AC was loud. Breakfast was good. It’s a 10-minute walk to the closest Big C, with a 7-11 near Big C too.

The service was very friendly, though staff English was limited, enough for basic things. The hotel seems fairly new but is already showing wear. The conference room and lunches were wonderful, and the breakfast buffet was decent, with a good Asian selection and some western food, fresh fruit, and an omelet bar. My room was nice, with a separate "living room" and bedroom. The bathroom was good, though there was only one soap bottle. The exercise room was enough for me but basic, and two popular machines, the treadmill and elliptical, were broken. The pool looked very nice, but I didn’t have time to try it. The location was decent, with small coffee shops nearby that served decent food, and Big C about a 10-minute walk away. We had a great view over a lily pond, with mountains in the background.

For a supposed 4 Star Hotel, taking more than five hours to clean my room was disappointing and inconvenient. I was out from 7:00am to 12:30pm, and I don’t see how I’m meant to rest in my room if I have to stay and watch housekeeping clean it. What’s the point of having a private room? An apology doesn’t undo the disappointment or inconvenience, actions do. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The rooms are very small and the location doesn’t suit me. You could rent a condominium instead, and there are many better 3 star hotels I’ve stayed in Chiang Mai.

I’d only booked three nights at first, then extended for a week because it was so quiet and comfortable. I really enjoyed being here, and the staff were attentive and helpful.
