Baan JaJa Guesthouse

The staff were friendly and the price was cheap. It wasn't especially clean, but it was still okay to stay in. Girls should be careful, I met some guys who showed me photos saying they were looking for Thai girls, since I'm Asian 😂

The staff were lovely, which makes this harder to say, but the mosquitos were a real problem. There are lots of marks on the room walls where guests have killed them, and the light outside our bedroom drew flying ants that came under the door when our light was on. There were loads. The shared area looked nice, but we couldn't sit there because mosquitos were everywhere. Breakfast was good, though I found an ant in the cereal. They have signs warning about the insects, so it's a pity there aren't nets in the rooms.

Kitty is wonderful, and all the other staff have been very nice too. I've stayed here probably 4-5 different times because it's close to everything. Whenever I come to Chiang Mai, this is where I'll stay :)

The woman at the lobby was very kind, but I wouldn't give this place five stars. Maybe it was better before. The third-floor fan-only room feels old, and the place seems a bit abandoned. I'd choose an air-conditioned room on the 1st or 2nd floor. For 13 to 17 €, you can find better options in the old city.
