BB House Chaingmai

This is my fourth stay at BB House in the past three months, and I really like it here. The rooms are clean, moderately sized, and well kept. Cher Cher at reception is attentive, helpful, and friendly, and Khun Lug, the night guard, is very pleasant. I mentioned the shower temperature problem in January, and was happy to see they installed a new water heater. The shower is much more enjoyable now. It’d be even better if they put screen doors or window screens in the rooms. Then we could get some ventilation without letting mosquitoes in. Without screens, I didn’t dare open the doors or windows, and after a couple of days the room developed an unpleasant smell. Still, it’s a very pleasant stay, and I’m looking forward to coming back soon this year.

The room is spacious, the beds are comfortable, and I feel safe in the location. Restaurants and massage are just a few minutes away on foot. They thoughtfully provide a bottle of water each day, and it’s easy to call for Grab pickup or dropoff. There’s parking too. I’ll definitely return to BB house when I’m back in Chiang Mai.

At 690b per night, I thought this was exceptional value. The hotel is conveniently placed between Mae Kha canal and Chiang Mai Gate, and it’s new, modern, artsy, and very well fitted. For a solo traveller with a vehicle, it really works well. Space is the downside: a couple with multiple luggages will run out of room quickly. The front desk lady has a lovely black cat that comes to say hi. Klong Mae Kha is nice for an evening stroll, and Chiang Mai streets are motorbike friendly, not so car.

The location was really good, and the hotel was clean, but the room was extremely noisy since it was right beside a busy road. It felt like cars and trucks were passing nonstop. The hot water unit wasn’t working either. This place is ideal only if you want to sleep with traffic noise around the clock.
